Acme Packet unifies communications for mobile broadband
at 2010 Mobile World Congress

Acme Packet to showcase solutions for delivering trusted, first class,
IP interactive communications for 3G and 4G wireless and converged access networks

BURLINGTON, MA, February 8, 2010 —Acme Packet® (NASDAQ: APKT), the leader in session border control solutions, today announced that it will showcase solutions for unifying communications for mobile broadband at the 2010 Mobile World Congress, which will be held February 15-18 in Barcelona, Spain. Acme Packet will be presenting, exhibiting and demonstrating its Net-Net® product family in hospitality suite AV80 on the Avenue located in Fira de Barcelona at Montjuic.

At Mobile World Congress, senior staff will be available to discuss how Acme Packet’s solutions can solve real-world challenges in delivering trusted, first class IP interactive communications. Acme Packet will also highlight ways to dramatically lowering the cost of IMS deployments and improve scalability of access networks to support all SIP-based services. In addition, Acme Packet will feature solutions for the GSMA’s Rich Communication Suite (RCS) services, LTE voice and messaging, fixed mobile convergence, femtocells, VoIP interconnects and core session routing. To schedule a meeting with Acme Packet or view the demonstrations at Mobile World Congress, complete a meeting request form or email MWC2010@acmepacket.com.

In its hospitality suite, Acme Packet will host solution demonstrations featuring RCS services and enterprise mobility. Acme Packet’s Net-Net session border controllers (SBCs) and Net-Net Security Gateway will be used along with products and services from partners Aylus Networks and Dimension Data. The two solutions on display are:

  • RCS video and content sharing services
Acme Packet and Aylus Networks will showcase the power of RCS video and content sharing. Acme Packet’s Net-Net SBC, deployed at the border between the 3G access network and the SIP/IMS network, protects the server infrastructure, maximizes reach and assures quality of experience for RCS services. Aylus Networks’ MediaShare Application Server and Media Switch provides real-time multimedia sharing to Aylus and third party RCS clients on 3G and dual-mode handsets as well as to web portals and social media hubs.
  • Enterprise mobility and picocell/femtocell services
Dimension Data, a specialist IT services and solution provider, and Acme Packet will demonstrate an enterprise mobility solution featuring an enterprise picocell/femtocell with hosted unified communications and presence. Leveraging the Net-Net Security Gateway and Net-Net Session Director, this fixed mobile convergence solution allows single and any number reach, seamless transfers between phones, and guaranteed  in-building coverage, capacity and service continuity. Applicable for mobile and wireline service providers, the enterprise mobility solution leverages Dimension Data’s expertise and integration capabilities.

As part of the Mobile World Congress education conference, Acme Packet will be presenting in the Network Breaking Point session on Wednesday, February 17th at 4:00 p.m. Patrick MeLampy, Chief Technology Officer and Cofounder of Acme Packet, will be speaking on the panel titled “Policy and Deep Packet Inspection – Complimentary or Competitors?” to discuss the importance of policy-based controls and security for IP interactive communications. Acme Packet will present on how to technically support RCS service delivery in the GSMA AppGarage in Hall 7 on Wednesday, February 17th at 4:30 p.m. More information on the 2010 Mobile World Congress, including the speaking program, is available at the Mobile World Congress website.
